General Practitioner (GP) Surgeries
Local doctors are also known as General Practitioners (GPs).  There are three surgeries located at the Health Centre close to the centre of Armagh.  To access health services you should register with a GP surgery as soon as possible at your local health centre.

GP Out of Hours Service
A GP out of hours service is available for serious urgent medical problems that cannot wait until the GP surgery is next open.  GP Out-of-Hours Centres.

Craigavon Area Hospital is the closest acute hospital to Armagh and is about 20 minutes away.

Third Level Education

There are three universities in Northern Ireland.  Queen’s University Belfast is located in the Centre of Belfast.  Ulster University has campuses in Belfast, Jordanstown, Coleraine and Derry/Londonderry.  The Open University also has a presence in Belfast.

The Southern Regional College is a further education college with campuses in Armagh, Newry and Banbridge.  The College runs a wide range of full-time and part-time further education courses and includes many evening classes.
