Massive Stars Near and Far

AOP is sponsoring International Astronomical Union Symposium 361 on Massive Stars Near and Far, being held at the Slieve Russell in Ballyconnell in County Cavan from 8 to 13 May, 2022. This is just over an hours drive from Armagh. AOP astronomer Jorick Vink is co-chair of the Scientific Organising Committee. This international conference will bring together observational and theoretical astrophysicists to discuss all aspects of massive stars, their formation, evolution and ultimately their demise as supernovae. The special focus for this conference is on massive stars in the early Universe, how they lived and died, and how they compare with massive stars in our Galaxy.
