Today, daily meteorological readings are taken manually with analogue and digital equipment – most of it secured within the Stevenson screen, some scattered around the Met enclosure.
In addition to that, our new automatic weather station, designed to Met Office specifications, has been continuously collecting data with a variety of digital equipment since 2018. Other automatic weather stations have been used through the years.
